In a bid to turn the State into a premier aerospace and defense (A&D) manufacturing hub, the Tamil Nadu government has stepped up its multi-city promotional campaign. Speaking at a Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor (TNDIC) industry meet in Madurai, TIDCO officials highlighted India's surging defense sector—which recently saw production top ₹1.54 lakh crore and exports surpass ₹38,000 crore. Tamil Nadu is positioning itself to capture a massive slice of this market as the country targets ₹3 lakh crore in total production and ₹50,000 crore in exports by 2029.
