Tata Communications has announced plans to invest USD 400–450 million to develop a 10,000 km AI-ready fibre network across India. Delivering 7.2 petabytes of network capacity, the strategic expansion aims to meet the surging connectivity demands of next-generation AI workloads, cloud applications, and data-intensive enterprise services.
The multi-million-dollar initiative will be executed in three phases over three to five years. Phase one will prioritize the Mumbai–Pune–Hyderabad–Chennai corridor, a vital artery for India's digital infrastructure and hyperscale data centers. Subsequent phases will broaden coverage to emerging data center clusters across eastern and western India as well as other key growth zones.
