Tata Power Commissions Rs 838-Crore UP Grid Project

Tata Power has commissioned the second phase of its Jalpura-Khurja transmission project in Uttar Pradesh, strengthening high-voltage power connectivity across the Noida and National Capital Region (NCR).

The newly commissioned phase comprises a 162-circuit-kilometre (CKM) 400 kV double-circuit transmission line and a 400/220 kV GIS substation at Jalpura. The overall project entails an estimated investment of Rs 838 crore and has been developed through Tata Power’s wholly owned subsidiary, TP Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission.

The transmission corridor will facilitate higher power transfer from the 400 kV grid to local 220 kV networks serving Noida and the NCR. It complements the project’s first element, a 1,000 MVA Metro Depot Substation, which was commissioned in January 2026.

Awarded through the tariff-based competitive bidding route, the project was completed as scheduled, adding to Tata Power’s transmission infrastructure portfolio in Uttar Pradesh.
