Tata Power Lands in GIDA: ₹800 Crore Solar Project Underway

The Dhuriyapar region under the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) is poised for significant industrial growth, with the Tata Group preparing to join major investors such as Adani and Reliance.

Tata Power has proposed establishing a 100-MW solar power plant in the area and plans to acquire 500 acres of land from GIDA for the project. A high-level meeting between GIDA officials and Tata Power representatives has already taken place, followed by a site inspection. The land transfer process is being fast-tracked and is expected to be finalised soon.

According to GIDA officials, the Tata Group is likely to invest around ₹800 crore in the plant, which is projected to generate 20 crore units of electricity annually. The project will create direct employment for over 300 people, along with additional indirect opportunities, and will play an important role in addressing the region’s rising power demand and ongoing energy challenges.
