Tata Power Surpasses Solar Milestone with 100,000 Installations

Tata Power has achieved a remarkable milestone by installing 100,000 rooftop solar panels across India, including 33,000 in Kerala, as announced by CEO and Managing Director Praveer Sinha. This achievement aligns with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, aimed at providing clean energy to every household in the country.

Kerala stands out with one-third of these installations, showcasing a successful model that Tata Power plans to replicate nationwide. During a press conference, Sinha emphasized the intention to expand this model to other regions, enhancing the company's footprint in the renewable energy sector.

In Kochi, Sinha launched the "GharGhar Solar" initiative, following similar launches in Jodhpur and Varanasi. This program promotes rooftop solar adoption by offering significant financial incentives to homeowners, aiming to raise awareness about the benefits of solar energy.

Tata Power's ambitious goal is to capture a 20-25% market share of the one crore rooftop solar installations targeted by the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. To achieve this, the company plans to expand its network of over 500 channel partners to 5,000, ensuring comprehensive nationwide coverage.

In Kerala, Tata Power has also commissioned a 101.6 MWp floating solar power project in the Kayamkulam backwaters. This innovative project conserves land, reduces water evaporation, and improves solar panel efficiency, reflecting Tata Power's commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions across India.
