Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has unveiled plans for a significant expansion in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, committing an investment of ₹1,370 crore. As part of this initiative, the Andhra Pradesh government has allocated 21.16 acres of land to TCS at a nominal rate of 99 paise per acre — a strategic move to attract high-value investments and bolster the city’s status as an emerging IT hub.
The decision, approved by the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet in Amaravati, follows active efforts led by the State’s IT and Industries Minister, Nara Lokesh. The new TCS facility is expected to create employment opportunities for approximately 12,000 professionals, further strengthening Visakhapatnam’s expanding tech ecosystem, which already includes industry leaders such as Wipro and Tech Mahindra.
This development is part of the broader IT and GCC Policy 2024–30, aimed at positioning Visakhapatnam as a premier destination for global technology firms. With enhanced connectivity, the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport just an hour away, a strategic coastal location, and a high quality of life, the city is poised to attract sustained investments and global attention.
