Torrent Power reported a capital expenditure of ₹1,155 crore in its power transmission and distribution (T&D) segment during the first half of FY26.
The spending comprised ₹780 crore for distribution licensing, ₹100 crore for franchised distribution, and ₹275 crore for power transmission. Total capex for H1 FY26 stood at ₹3,700 crore, driven largely by ₹2,500 crore invested in renewable energy (RE). While T&D losses saw a marginal increase across both licensed and franchised areas, power purchase volume grew by 1.7 percent during the period.
The company has also placed the boiler and turbine-generator (BTG) order for its 1,600 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power project in Madhya Pradesh, which entails an investment of ₹22,000 crore. Additionally, Torrent Power plans to commission its greenfield transmission project in Maharashtra by March 2026, enabling evacuation of 1.5 GW of renewable energy.
