Telangana’s 4,000 MW Mega Power Station Hits Final Milestone

Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TGGENCO) achieved a key milestone on 20 October 2026 with the successful grid synchronisation of the 800 MW fifth unit at the Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS). Located at Veerlapalem village in Damaracherla mandal, Nalgonda district, the 4,000 MW ultra-supercritical plant features five 800 MW units in total. With the first four units already commercially operational, this final synchronisation marks the final step toward full project commissioning. TGGENCO Chairman and Managing Director S. Harish praised teams from TGGENCO and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) for their coordinated execution.
