Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy officially initiated the construction of the National Institute of Urban Management (NIUM) campus by laying its foundation stone today. Located on a 20-acre plot provided free of cost by the state government, the ₹200-crore project is slated for completion in June 2028, coinciding with celebrations for Telangana Formation Day.
Designed by Sanjay Puri Architects, the state-of-the-art facility emphasizes eco-friendly design, reserving two-thirds of the total area for green spaces while integrating solar power, rainwater harvesting, and low-carbon materials. Upon completion, the campus will serve as a hub for urban governance education, featuring learning centers for elected representatives and municipal officials, an Urban Living Street, a prototype testing corridor, and 122 residential units to accommodate trainees, research fellows, and visiting domain experts.
