Thane Metro Line 4 Phase 1 Set to Roll Out in December 2026

First-phase commercial operations of Metro Line 4—covering the Gaimukh to Cadbury Junction stretch—are scheduled to launch in December 2026, Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced. Aimed at relieving severe traffic congestion along Thane’s Ghodbunder Road, the segment forms part of the larger 35.20 km, 32-station Metro Line 4 and 4A corridor connecting Mumbai, Thane, and the surrounding suburbs. In addition to mass transit expansion across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), the state government also announced new tourism infrastructure projects for Thane.
