JK Cement has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art grey cement plant in Buxar, Bihar, marking a key milestone in the company’s expansion journey.
With the commissioning of this facility, JK Cement’s total production capacity has increased to 31.26 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), surpassing the 30 MTPA threshold. This positions the company among the top five grey cement manufacturers in India, strengthening its national footprint and long-term growth strategy.
The newly commissioned plant has a capacity of 3 MTPA and is spread across 100 acres. Strategically located along the Patna–Buxar highway, the facility offers enhanced logistical efficiency, enabling faster distribution across Bihar and neighbouring regions.
Although JK Cement had earlier entered the Bihar market through its Prayagraj plant, the Buxar unit will significantly improve local servicing, allowing deliveries within 24 hours. Commenting on the development, Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director of JK Cement, said that crossing the 31 MTPA mark represents a major turning point in the company’s expansion and that the Buxar plant is a strategic step toward strengthening JK Cement’s pan-India presence.
