The 8GW Club: NTPC’s New Solar Milestone in Khavda

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), the renewable energy arm of India’s largest power producer, has achieved a significant milestone by adding 13.98 MW of solar capacity to its Khavda project in Gujarat.

This addition takes NTPC’s total installed renewable capacity past the 8,000 MW mark, reaching 8,010.28 MW, up from 7,996.30 MW. The new capacity forms part of the Khavda-I Solar PV Project in Kutch, an area renowned for its high solar potential. Developed by NTPC Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of NGEL, the project is part of a larger 1,255 MW solar initiative being implemented in multiple phases.

With this expansion, NTPC continues to strengthen its leadership in India’s renewable energy sector, supporting the nation’s transition to clean and sustainable power.
