Waaree Energies has announced plans to set up India’s largest integrated lithium-ion battery gigafactory in Andhra Pradesh, a major step toward strengthening the nation’s energy storage and electric mobility ecosystem.
The proposed facility will be developed at Rambilli in Anakapalli district with an estimated investment of ₹8,175 crore. The project is expected to create around 3,000 direct employment opportunities, contributing significantly to regional economic growth and industrial development.
Envisioned as a greenfield project, the gigafactory will have an installed capacity of 16 GWh and will cover the entire battery value chain—from advanced cell manufacturing and battery pack assembly to large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The initiative highlights Waaree Energies’ strategic focus on expanding India’s capabilities in renewable energy integration and electric vehicle infrastructure.
