The Big Lift: ₹132 Crore Approved for Kandla Overbridge

The Centre has approved a ₹132 crore road overbridge project at Kandla Port to ease congestion and enhance cargo movement in the port area. The initiative is aimed at eliminating bottlenecks caused by railway crossings, ensuring smoother traffic flow.

As one of India’s key cargo hubs, Kandla handles substantial freight volumes, making efficient connectivity essential. The proposed overbridge will enable uninterrupted vehicular movement, particularly benefiting freight transport.

The project is expected to significantly improve logistics efficiency while reducing delays in cargo handling and transportation.
