The Growing Lanes of Indore: MR-12 Overbridge Expansion

The Public Works Department (PWD) is set to construct an additional three-lane railway overbridge (ROB) on MR-12 Road as part of the Indore Development Authority’s (IDA) TPS-8 Scheme. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Indore Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh, with the participation of officials from IDA, PWD, and various other government departments.

The new ROB will follow the revised alignment of MR-12, which has already been approved by IDA through a Board resolution and submitted for government approval. The PWD Bridge Division has initiated the construction of a three-lane ROB and is now in the process of seeking Railway approval for the addition of three more lanes, as per the General Arrangement Drawing (GAD).

This upgraded six-lane overbridge is designed to alleviate future traffic congestion. Construction will begin once the design is approved by the Town and Country Planning (TNCP) department, in accordance with the updated road alignment.
