The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is assessing the feasibility of extending the Namma Metro Pink Line from KR Puram to Hoskote, covering a distance of approximately 16 km.
The proposed extension will feature a double-decker corridor that integrates a Metro rail line and a flyover within a single structure. Delhi-based Introsaptt Solutions has been appointed to conduct the feasibility study, which will evaluate technical feasibility, traffic demand, station locations, cost estimates, and the overall sustainability of the corridor. Based on the study’s findings, BMRCL will prepare a detailed project report (DPR).
The KR Puram–Hoskote extension is expected to significantly improve public transport connectivity for residents of Bengaluru Rural district and the eastern outskirts of the city. At present, commuters from Hoskote depend on distant Metro stations, leading to longer travel times.
The proposed corridor will connect key growth nodes such as Budigere Cross, Katamnallur Gate, and the Hoskote Toll Plaza, and will support major infrastructure developments including the Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway and the Satellite Ring Road.
