The Race is On: REC's Massive Maharashtra Transmission Bid

REC Power Development and Consultancy has invited bids for the selection of transmission service providers through the TBCB process for developing intra-state transmission projects in Maharashtra.

The projects, to be executed on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis, include the establishment of three major substations: a 765/400/220 kV ALS substation at Balsane in Dhule district, a 765/400/220 kV ALS substation at Apta in Raigad district, and a 400/220 kV GIS substation at Ambernath in Thane district.

The selected transmission provider will be responsible for the construction, operation, and eventual transfer of these facilities. The projects are designed to strengthen grid reliability and transmission capacity, supporting the region’s growing energy requirements.

The bid submission deadline is 9 February 2026.
