Tirupati District Chief Orders Fast-Track for Major Infrastructure

Dr. S Venkateswar has directed officials and contractors to strictly adhere to deadlines for major infrastructure and industrial projects underway in Tirupati district.

Chairing a high-level review meeting in Tirupati alongside R. Govinda Rao, the Collector assessed progress across projects related to the national highway, railway and industrial sectors, stressing that execution quality must be maintained while ensuring timely completion.

Key projects reviewed during the meeting included the Vizag-Chennai Industrial Corridor, Sri City Phase-2, and infrastructure developments being undertaken by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation at Space City and Duggarajapatnam.

The Collector instructed Revenue Divisional Officers to address “web land” discrepancies and pending legal issues to accelerate land acquisition processes in Kolladam and Irugulam.

On the connectivity front, priority was given to expediting work on the Nadikudi–Srikalahasti and Renigunta–Arkonam railway lines, as well as the six-laning of highways connecting Kadapa and Chennai. The review also focused on Sagarmala project packages and the MIG housing layout at Thimmajikandriga.

Representatives from Indian Space Research Organisation and National Highways Authority of India attended the meeting, where the Collector emphasised that stronger inter-departmental coordination would be essential to accelerate economic development in the district and ensure timely public benefits from the projects.
