Chennai-based DeepTech startup Torus Robotics Pvt Ltd, a pioneer in indigenous powertrain technology for the EV automotive market, defense, aviation, and consumer sectors, has successfully secured a seed investment of $4.70 lakh. The investment was led by the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Fund Management Corporation (TNIFMC) through the Tamil Nadu Emerging Sector Seed Fund.
Participation in the funding round came from Forge Innovation & Ventures in Coimbatore and SINE (Society for Innovation & Entrepreneurship) at IIT Bombay. Torus Robotics plans to allocate the investment towards expanding its research and development operations.
Founded in 2019 by Vignesh M, Vibhakar Senthil, and Abbhi Vignesh K in Chennai, Torus Robotics aims to address the considerable dependence on imported powertrain components, particularly motors and controllers, within the EV market.
Torus Robotics is actively pursuing opportunities in industries such as power generation, robotics, and related sectors.
