Telangana’s Roads and Buildings Minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, has announced plans to construct a 5.5-km double-decker elevated corridor between LB Nagar and Hayatnagar to ease congestion along the busy NH-65 stretch.
The project, estimated at ₹941 crore, is expected to benefit around 10–12 lakh residents across 60–70 colonies in eastern Hyderabad. The proposed structure will feature three tiers—service roads at ground level, highway traffic in the middle, and a metro rail line on top—aimed at reducing travel time, improving road safety, and streamlining traffic flow.
Funding will be shared between the Centre and the state, with ₹741 crore expected from the central government and ₹200 crore from the state government and Hyderabad Metro Rail. Proposals have been submitted to the Centre, with approvals anticipated soon, following which the tendering process will commence.
The announcement comes alongside other key infrastructure initiatives, including the near-completion of the LB Nagar–Malkapur six-lane expansion, a ₹53.55 crore double-decker flyover between Madinaguda and BHEL, and plans for a 52-km Mannanur–Srisailam elevated corridor aimed at enhancing safety and reducing travel time.
