Travel Transformed: The ₹1,500Cr Greenfield Corridor.

The Mohali IT City–Kurali Expressway was opened to traffic on 22 December 2025, significantly reducing travel time by nearly 45 minutes without altering the overall distance between the two destinations.

Built at a cost of ₹1,525.3 crore, the six-lane, access-controlled greenfield corridor allows vehicles to travel at speeds of up to 100 kmph, providing seamless and signal-free connectivity between Mohali and Kurali. The expressway is expected to ease congestion on Mohali’s Airport Road by diverting inter-state traffic away from densely populated urban areas, effectively bypassing Mohali and Kharar.

Stretching across 31.23 km, the corridor features extensive infrastructure, including bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and culverts to ensure smooth and uninterrupted movement. Although a toll plaza has been established near Bajheri village, toll collection has not yet commenced.

The project experienced delays due to monsoon conditions and a farmer blockade in November 2025. The final obstacle—relocation of high-tension power lines—was resolved last month. According to NHAI officials, the expressway will enhance travel efficiency, improve road safety, and contribute to regional economic development.
