The Union Ministry for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) has approved 21 tourism projects worth ₹451 crore for Tripura, providing a significant boost to the state’s tourism sector.
Chief Minister Manik Saha said the projects would strengthen tourism infrastructure and generate sustainable growth opportunities. Of the total outlay, ₹267.5 crore will be funded by DoNER, while the remaining amount will be contributed by the Tripura government, the Ministry of Tourism, and through public–private partnership models. The approvals followed the presentation of the Matabari Tourist Circuit Project before Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Describing the development as a major milestone for Tripura’s tourism growth, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Union government and the State Tourism Department for their support.
