Tripura's Tourism Treasures Get a ₹67 Crore Makeover

In a significant push to enhance tourism infrastructure in Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹67 crore at Chabimura, Fatik Sagar, and Amar Sagar in the Gomati district.

The foundation-laying ceremony, held at Chabimura in Amarpur, was attended by Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and overseen by Prashant Badal Negi, Managing Director of the Tripura Tourism Development Corporation (TTDCL) and Director of the Tourism Department.

Funded under the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-supported Tripura Urban and Tourism Development Project (TUTDP), these initiatives aim to promote eco-tourism, enhance livability, and conserve the region’s rich heritage. The project will focus on upgrading tourist facilities at all three sites to attract both domestic and international visitors.

Chabimura—famous for its centuries-old rock carvings along the Gomati River—will serve as the centerpiece of the initiative, with plans to develop it into a major tourism hub. Complementary infrastructure improvements at Fatik Sagar and Amar Sagar are expected to boost the district’s overall appeal as a key tourist destination.
