In a major expansion beyond its core cement business, UltraTech Cement has successfully entered the electrical materials segment. Commercial operations for house wires and light-duty cables began on September 1, 2026, at the company’s newly commissioned manufacturing facility in Jhagadia, Gujarat. Boasting an installed capacity of approximately 1.098 million kilometers per year, the plant serves as the foundation for UltraTech’s Rs 18 billion investment in the wires and cables industry. The launch aligns with a nationwide surge in construction and infrastructure development, enabling UltraTech to deliver a broader range of building solutions while steadily ramping up production to meet domestic electrical demand.
