Uttam Distilleries: $110 Cr. Expansion to Hit 160 KLPD

Uttam Distilleries (UDL), a subsidiary of Uttam Sugar Mills, has announced a major capacity expansion, scaling up its distillery operations from 40 kilo litres per day (KLPD) to 160 KLPD.

This expansion is a strategic move to strengthen the company’s ethanol production segment—an increasingly vital contributor to both revenue growth and sustainability goals. Currently operating at a high utilisation rate of 95%, UDL aims to complete the project by March 2027. The total capital outlay for the project is estimated at ₹110 crore, to be financed through a mix of internal accruals, promoter contributions, and debt.

Uttam Sugar Mills, active in sugar production, ethanol, and co-generated power, is positioning itself to capitalize on growing demand driven by the Indian government’s ethanol blending policy. The expanded capacity is expected to significantly enhance the company’s operational scale and revenue potential in the years ahead.
