Venus Sugar Unveils Sustainable Distillery Project in Uttar Pradesh

Venus Sugar Limited's ambitious Molasses-Based Distillery Unit project in Village Gangadharpur, Chandausi, Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, advances ethanol production. With an investment of Rs. 108.75 crores, this facility seeks to generate 60 KLPD of ethanol and integrate a 2.2 MW co-generation power plant. This program uses molasses, a sugar byproduct, as the main feedstock for ethanol production.

The project produces rectified spirit, additional neutral alcohol, and petrol-blending ethanol. The co-generation power plant will produce energy from distillery waste heat for internal or grid use. Venus Sugar plans to use modern distillation and power generating technology to boost efficiency and sustainability.

This effort promotes ethanol-petrol blending to reduce India's dependency on imported crude oil, improving energy security and the environment. It also supplies a critical molasses market, possibly stabilizing prices and helping the sugar sector. Despite these advantages, obstacles remain, such as negotiating the competitive Indian ethanol market, assuring environmental compliance, securing land, and project completion within budget and time.

Engage with Venus Sugar Limited for more information about ethanol goods, technology, and environmental mitigation. News articles about ethanol legislation, sugar industry updates, and co-generation projects in India might reveal prospects and problems. Understanding Uttar Pradesh's ethanol production capability and molasses use would help assess the project's effect.

As on December, 2023. The project is now in the stage of construction being started. The completion of the project's work has reached the 10% mark. The work on the project will be finished by July of 2024.
