Versova-Dahisar Metro Project Now Costs Rs 35,955 Crore

The Versova-Dahisar Metro project in Mumbai has witnessed a substantial increase in costs, soaring to Rs 35,955 crore in just six months. Alongside this development, there is a proposed elevated GMLR connector that will connect Mindspace Malad Junction on Coastal Road to the starting point of GMLR in Goregaon East. This connector aims to link the southern tip and western suburbs of Mumbai with Mulund and Thane. Executed on a design and build basis, the extensive project is strategically divided into six packages to address its extensive length, varied terrains, and diverse components, each requiring specialized expertise. The project is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and provide pollution-free commuting options for Mumbai's residents, as highlighted by the BMC chief.
