Vibhor Steel Tubes Ramps Up Production with Odisha Plant

Vibhor Steel Tubes (VSTL) is expanding its operations with the establishment of a new unit in Sundargarh, Odisha. This strategic move aims to augment the company's total manufacturing capacity to 3.41 lakh tonnes. The upcoming plant will specialize in the production of value-added products including crash barriers and monopoles.

Upon the completion of the new facility, VSTL's capacity will witness a notable increase of 1,20,000 metric tonnes, reaching a total of 3,41,000 metric tonnes. The company anticipates the plant to commence operations by the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25, with land acquisition already secured and orders for necessary plant and machinery placed. The project will be self-funded through internal accruals.

Furthermore, VSTL is poised to explore export markets once the new production facility becomes operational. The proximity to raw material sources in Odisha will offer the company a competitive edge by reducing freight costs. Presently, the Hisar-based steel manufacturer operates two plants in Mahabubnagar, Telangana, and Raigad, Maharashtra, boasting a combined installed capacity of 2.21 lakh tonnes.

In terms of its product portfolio, VSTL specializes in manufacturing a range of steel products, including electric resistance welded pipes, hot-dipped galvanized pipes, and hollow section pipes. Additionally, the company has renewed its agreement with Jindal Pipes to continue manufacturing and supplying finished goods under the esteemed brand name Jindal Star to Jindal Pipes.
