Vijayawada Airport Terminal Fast-Tracked for Late 2026 Launch

The long-awaited new terminal at Vijayawada International Airport is finally on the fast track, with the Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) setting a firm launch deadline for October or November 2026. During a recent review meeting, Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) prioritized expanding the airport's domestic and international footprint while streamlining access to Amaravati. Thanks to a new contractor appointed by the Union government, terminal construction has gained significant momentum. To support this growth, the committee is also pushing forward with a new four-lane link road and an alternative NH-16 connection to drastically cut commute times to the capital region.
