VinFast Accelerates India EV Ambitions with Phase 2 Plant Expansion

VinFast is scaling up its footprint in the Indian electric vehicle sector through localized manufacturing initiatives designed to meet regional consumer demands. Drawing insights from targeted customer clinics and market research, the automaker has adapted models like the VF 6 and VF 7 to align with Indian preferences. Assembly operations currently utilize completely knocked-down (CKD) kits at the Thoothukudi plant in Tamil Nadu. Building on this foundation, VinFast has secured investment approval for Phase 2 of its Thoothukudi facility expansion, paving the way for increased localization and expanded production capabilities across the country.
