West Bengal Lines Up 267+ Acres for Bhavya Industrial Parks

West Bengal has identified two government-owned land parcels spanning over 267 acres for developing industrial parks under the Centre’s Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojona (Bhavya) scheme. The shortlisted sites include 118.5 acres at Dhubulia in Nadia and around 148.6 acres at Hirapur near Asansol in Paschim Burdwan.

The West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDCL) will act as the state’s nodal agency for implementing the scheme, which aims to attract fresh industrial investment and strengthen the state’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Approved by the Union Cabinet in March 2026 with an allocation of ₹33,660 crore for 2026-27 to 2031-32, Bhavya targets the development of 100 world-class plug-and-play industrial parks across India. Each proposed park must have at least 100 acres of clear-title, encumbrance-free land.

West Bengal Commerce and Industries Minister Tapas Roy said the state plans to submit its proposal this month after resolving pending land availability issues.
