Wipro Hydraulics, the hydraulic cylinders division of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, has launched a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mahindra World City, Jaipur. This marks the company's first foray into Northern India, aiming to supply hydraulic cylinders to a global customer base. The facility represents an investment of approximately ₹250 crore and is expected to generate around 400 jobs, enhancing Wipro's production capabilities and regional presence.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Azim Premji, Chairman of Wipro Enterprises, Deepak Shetty, CEO & MD of JCB India, and Pratik Kumar, CEO of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering. Chief Minister Sharma praised Rajasthan's evolving role as a manufacturing hub, emphasizing the positive impact of Wipro's investment on the state's growth and development.
The new plant is outfitted with cutting-edge technology, including automated production lines, robotic arms, an advanced paint line, and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) for material handling. It also incorporates laser beam and infrared sensors for enhanced safety and quality control. These advanced features underscore Wipro Hydraulics' commitment to maintaining high standards in manufacturing and delivering superior products.
Pratik Kumar highlighted the strategic importance of the new facility, stating, "With over four decades of market leadership, Wipro Hydraulics has produced over 1.5 million cylinders globally. This expansion reinforces our presence in key markets and ensures we can meet customer demands more efficiently."
Wipro Hydraulics now operates manufacturing plants in Jaipur, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hindupur (Andhra Pradesh), producing custom-built hydraulic cylinders for diverse sectors including construction, agriculture, and mining. With facilities across India, Europe, the USA, and Brazil, Wipro Hydraulics is a leading global manufacturer, delivering over 1.5 million cylinders annually to OEMs worldwide.
