Welspun Enterprises' subsidiary, Welspun Michigan Engineers (WMEL), has secured a ₹79.29 crore contract from the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) to rehabilitate a major drainage line in the city’s West Zone.
The project will leverage advanced trenchless technology to minimize environmental impact and social disruptions typically associated with traditional construction methods. The contract is scheduled for completion within 12 months, excluding potential delays due to the monsoon season. This project marks WMEL’s entry into a new market, aligning with its broader expansion strategy.
Saurin Patel, Managing Director of Welspun Michigan Engineers, emphasized the strategic importance of this development: “This project allows us to rejuvenate existing infrastructure using trenchless technology, significantly reducing societal costs and environmental impact. It also serves as a key milestone in WMEL’s expansion into new geographies.”
WMEL specializes in urban infrastructure solutions, employing advanced techniques such as micro-tunneling, segment tunneling, and pipeline rehabilitation. The company has a strong track record of executing large-scale projects in major cities, driving innovation in urban infrastructure development.
