WPIL has secured a contract valued at Rs 425.35 crore from the Public Health Engineering Department, West Bengal, for the execution of Package-I within the surface-based water supply scheme (WSS) in the state.
This comprehensive undertaking, identified as Package-I of WSS in the Northern Sector under Purulia District, is anticipated to be accomplished within a 27-month timeline, with an additional three years allocated for operation and maintenance (O&M).
As of September 30, 2023, WPIL's domestic order book for H1/FY24 stands at Rs 3,739.4 crore, complemented by an international order book of Rs 827.5 crore for the same period. The company is strategically aligning its efforts with initiatives such as the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and AMRUT-2 to reinforce its standing as a global leader in the water handling sector.
WPIL's diverse product portfolio encompasses various pump types, including turbine, mixed flow, axial flow, large volute pumps, and submersible pumps. With a robust global presence, it operates manufacturing units in India and has established subsidiaries or joint ventures in South Africa, Zambia, Australia, Singapore, Italy, France, Thailand, Switzerland, and the UAE.
