The Government of Odisha plans to sign at least 25 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in the food and beverages sector during the current fiscal year, according to Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary for Home, Industries, and I&PR.

Speaking from Bhubaneswar, Sharma highlighted that the sector—identified as a priority area—has witnessed strong growth and increasing investor interest in the state. He noted that 33 industrial projects have been proposed for 2025–26, with a total estimated investment of ₹7,655 crore and the potential to generate 14,532 jobs.

Progress is already visible, with eight projects grounded, accounting for ₹3,815 crore in investments and creating 16,165 employment opportunities. In addition, nine projects have been inaugurated, bringing in ₹2,404 crore and generating 3,731 jobs.

As part of its broader strategy to boost the sector, Odisha also plans to set up 10 mega food parks across the state, further strengthening food processing infrastructure and driving industrial growth.
