UP’s Golden Pour: Brewers Bet ₹5,500 Crore on State’s Growth

The brewing industry is set to invest nearly ₹5,500 crore in Uttar Pradesh over the next three years, with plans to establish new greenfield plants and expand ancillary facilities, according to the Brewers’ Association of India (BAI).

Describing the move as the industry “betting big” on the state, BAI credited the Uttar Pradesh government’s recently unveiled excise policy as a key catalyst. The association termed the policy “progressive” and said it strikes a balanced approach to encouraging sectoral growth.

BAI Director General Vinod Giri said the beer industry and its allied segments would collectively invest ₹5,500 crore over the next three years, reflecting strong confidence in the state’s business climate.

The proposed investments are expected to enhance local manufacturing capacity, generate employment opportunities, and reinforce the supply chain for the beer and related industries across the region.
