Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone for the new terminal building at Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar, Haryana, marking a major milestone in the state’s aviation journey. With an investment exceeding ₹410 crore, the project underscores the Prime Minister’s commitment to making air travel safer, more affordable, and accessible to all.
The upcoming infrastructure will feature a state-of-the-art passenger terminal, a dedicated cargo terminal, and an advanced air traffic control (ATC) tower. This development is set to transform Haryana’s aviation sector, enhancing connectivity and operational efficiency for both passengers and cargo.
Once completed, Hisar Airport will offer scheduled flights to prominent destinations such as Ayodhya, Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh. This will position Hisar as a key regional aviation hub, boosting connectivity across northern India.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi called the initiative “a step toward elevating Haryana’s aspirations to new heights,” aligning with the broader goals of the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme. The project aims to democratize air travel, stimulate economic growth, attract investments, and generate employment across the region.
With a future-ready design and integrated functionality, the new terminal is poised to meet the evolving demands of regional and domestic aviation, ushering in a new era for Haryana’s infrastructure and connectivity.
