Ashok Leyland has unveiled its advanced Uptime Solutions Centre at its Ennore facility near Chennai, aimed at minimizing vehicle downtime and enhancing fleet productivity. This move comes in response to the growing fleet of BS-VI vehicles, which demand higher levels of support to ensure longer operational periods.
Initially starting with a small team, the Uptime Centre has now scaled up to meet the demands of Ashok Leyland’s expanding fleet. Sanjeev Kumar, President – MHCV at Ashok Leyland, explained that the vision for the full-scale centre emerged as the company recognized the need for proactive vehicle support.
The centre focuses on two key services: diagnostics and prognostics. Diagnostics helps resolve complex issues that local workshops cannot handle, while prognostics enables real-time monitoring of connected vehicles, flagging potential problems before they escalate.
The Uptime Centre will soon operate 24/7 with 70 trained professionals, monitoring over 1.25 lakh trucks across various states. This proactive system not only addresses vehicle issues quickly but also feeds valuable data into future product development.
For fleet owners, the Uptime Solutions Centre offers significant benefits, reducing costly vehicle downtime and ensuring fleets remain on the road, ultimately improving overall efficiency and profitability.
