Maruti Suzuki Fuels Up Gujarat with ₹10,189 Crore Mega-Plant

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has approved an investment of ₹10,189 crore to set up the first phase of a new manufacturing facility at Khoraj Industrial Estate in Gujarat, with an annual production capacity of 2.5 lakh vehicles.

According to a regulatory filing, the investment will cover the development of the initial car manufacturing plant along with common infrastructure to support future expansion at the site. The first phase, with a capacity of 250,000 vehicles per annum, is targeted to be operational by 2029, subject to market conditions.

This development follows the board’s earlier approval on January 12 to acquire land at Khoraj Industrial Estate from the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC). Building on that decision, the board has now cleared the addition of the first phase of manufacturing capacity at the proposed location.
