Chemical and Film Power-Up: SRF Ltd's ₹750 Crore Investment

Gurugram-based SRF Ltd has announced plans to invest nearly ₹750 crore to expand its manufacturing footprint, with two major projects—an agrochemical plant in Gujarat and a BOPP film production facility in Indore. The company’s board approved the investment on July 23, according to a regulatory filing.

As part of this strategy, SRF will invest ₹250 crore to establish an agrochemical intermediate manufacturing unit at Dahej, Gujarat, with a planned annual capacity of 12,000 tonnes. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Additionally, the company will allocate ₹490 crore to set up a Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) film manufacturing facility in Indore. This facility will feature a 10.4-metre-wide Bruckner film line along with a metalliser, with completion targeted in 24 months.

SRF Ltd operates across a diverse portfolio that includes fluorochemicals, specialty chemicals, performance films and foil, technical textiles, and coated and laminated fabrics. These new investments are part of the company’s broader strategy to scale up manufacturing capabilities and reinforce its position in the chemicals and packaging films sectors.
