Paradeep Phosphates Ltd. (PPL) has announced a Rs 3,600 crore capacity expansion plan to boost production and achieve five million metric tonnes (MT) in sales over the next two and a half years.
The expansion includes adding one million tonnes of granulation capacity and enhancing backward integration with an additional 0.5 million tonnes of phosphoric acid and 1.5 million tonnes of sulphuric acid production across its Paradeep and Mangalore units. This initiative aligns with PPL’s long-term vision to become a fully integrated and self-reliant fertiliser manufacturer.
Suresh Krishnan, Managing Director and CEO, noted that the successful merger with Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers (MCFL) has strengthened the company’s presence in southern India, expanded market share, and unlocked operational synergies in both scale and product mix.
