Bina Expansion: SPHERE Package Bids Open!

Engineers India Ltd. (EIL), on behalf of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), has invited bids for the SPHERE Package of the Bina Petrochemical & Refinery Expansion Project (BPREP) in Madhya Pradesh.

BPCL plans to establish a world-scale ethylene cracker unit, along with associated ethylene and propylene-based petrochemical units, as part of its diversification into petrochemicals. This project also includes expanding the Bina Refinery's capacity to approximately 12 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

EIL has been appointed as the EPCM Consultant for the project.

Scope of Work:
The SPHERE Package involves residual design and engineering, procurement, fabrication, erection, inspection, calibration, painting, PWHT, testing, and supply of piping (from Sphere bottom to ROV/first flange of nozzle), including supporting structures, platforms, firefighting system, insulation, 3D modelling, statutory approvals, and pre-commissioning and commissioning support—delivered in full.

Timeline:
Mechanical completion is expected within 20 months from the date of contract award.
