IOLCP Greenlights New ₹1,400 Crore API Facility in Punjab

IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals (IOLCP) has announced plans to invest ₹1,400 crore in a new active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing facility at Badbar village, Barnala district, Punjab.

The company has secured environmental clearance and the required land for the project, which is expected to generate 2,000 employment opportunities. IOLCP, one of India’s leading producers of APIs and specialty chemicals, is globally recognised as the largest manufacturer of Ibuprofen, a widely used NSAID.

The new facility will complement IOLCP’s existing unit in Barnala, strengthening its regional presence. The announcement was made in the presence of Varinder Gupta, Managing Director, IOLCP, and Amit Dhaka, CEO of Investment Promotion.
