N. Chandrababu Naidu has asserted that the development of Amaravati, the greenfield capital of Andhra Pradesh, is firmly on track, with major construction works expected to be completed by 2028.
Addressing a recent press conference in Amaravati, the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi—who had earlier laid the foundation stone for the capital and revisited it after the NDA government resumed construction in 2024—is likely to inaugurate key projects in 2029.
Naidu emphasized that Amaravati has gained irreversible momentum following Parliament’s passage of a Bill granting legal status to the capital. He described the development as a significant milestone for the five crore people of Andhra Pradesh and reiterated the government’s commitment to building a world-class “people’s capital.”
