Driven by recent geological discoveries valued at over Rs 21,000 crore, Bihar is aggressively expanding its mining sector. Between 2021 and 2024, extensive surveys in Rohtas, Jamui, Gaya, and Jehanabad uncovered valuable reserves of limestone, glauconite, gold, magnetite, and rare earth elements.
Projecting an annual revenue potential of more than Rs 5,000 crore, the state has modernized its regulatory framework to fast-track commercial production, which is slated to roll out between 2026 and 2031 following competitive auctions and environmental clearances.
