KNR Bags ₹319 Cr Contract for Iconic Mir Alam Bridge

The Telangana government has awarded the contract for the construction of an iconic cable-stayed bridge across Mir Alam Tank to KNR Constructions Limited at a cost of ₹319.24 crore under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.

According to a Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Department order, the contract value is 4.89% higher than the government’s initial estimate of ₹303.36 crore. The Managing Director of the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) has been authorised to issue the Letter of Acceptance and finalise the agreement.

Once completed, this will be Hyderabad’s second cable-stayed bridge, following the Durgam Cheruvu Bridge in Madhapur. The project aims to ease traffic congestion between the Bengaluru National Highway at Shastripuram and Chintalmet, while contributing to the larger Musi Riverfront Development Project (MRDP).

The MRDP focuses on environmental rejuvenation, flood prevention, infrastructure enhancement, and tourism promotion along the 58-km stretch of the Musi River.
