KSM Wins Metro Bhawan Lucknow Contract with Competitive Bid!

KSM Bashir Mohammad & Sons has secured the position as the lowest bidder (L1) for the construction of the Metro Bhawan-cum-OCC building in Lucknow, a project initiated by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC). This contract involves the design and construction of a multi-storied RCC framed building. The extensive scope of work includes structural, architectural, finishing, plumbing, drainage, external development, road works, E&M works, HVAC, fire detection, and firefighting systems. The site is strategically located near Sachivalaya Metro Station, ensuring a central role in the metro's operations.

The bid submitted by KSM Bashir Mohammad & Sons stood at Rs 101.79 crore. This project aims to create a new headquarters for UPMRC, which currently operates from a smaller building in Ambedkar Park. The new facility will house the Operational Control Centre (OCC) for the Lucknow Metro, which manages train operations across the 22.8 km Line-1, connecting Lucknow CCS Airport to Munshi Pulia.

The bidding process began in March 2024 with an estimated budget of Rs 120.80 crore and a completion timeline of 600 days. KSM Bashir Mohammad & Sons emerged victorious among the three prominent firms that participated. Their extensive experience includes significant metro infrastructure projects across North India, further establishing their capability to handle this substantial project.

This project not only addresses the current operational needs of UPMRC but also prepares for future expansions, with the new headquarters poised to support the growing demands of metro systems in Lucknow, Kanpur, and Agra. The construction timeline is set for 20 months, promising a swift enhancement of the city's metro infrastructure.
