Flipkart, India’s leading e-commerce platform, is set to significantly expand its supply chain network with the launch of 11 new fulfilment centres across nine cities. This expansion will add 1.3 million square feet to Flipkart’s infrastructure, increasing the total number of fulfilment centres to 83 nationwide.
The new facilities are expected to generate over 100,000 job opportunities, bolstering Flipkart's supply chain operations. These roles will range from inventory managers and warehouse associates to logistics coordinators, providing vital support during the upcoming festive season when demand is anticipated to surge.
This expansion is part of Flipkart’s broader strategy to enhance its logistical capabilities and meet customer demands more efficiently. The new centres will improve delivery speed and service quality, particularly during peak shopping periods, ensuring a seamless shopping experience for millions of customers.
Flipkart's fulfilment centres are equipped with advanced technology, including automated warehouses and data-driven decision-making systems, to optimise operations. These innovations are crucial in maintaining Flipkart’s competitive edge in India’s rapidly growing e-commerce market.
As Flipkart continues to scale its operations, this latest move underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its supply chain infrastructure and contributing to India’s employment landscape.
