On January 19, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) campus situated near Kempegowda International Airport in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Constructed with an investment of Rs 1,600 crore, the 43-acre BIETC campus stands as Boeing's largest investment outside the USA, marking a significant milestone in aerospace collaboration with India. This state-of-the-art facility is poised to play a pivotal role in fostering partnerships and developing cutting-edge products and services for the global aerospace and defense industry.
Recognizing the growing demand for skilled professionals in the Indian aviation sector, Boeing has committed to invest in simulator infrastructure, software, and the development of a comprehensive training curriculum. This initiative aims to address the country's need for new pilots and mechanics over the next two decades, with a focus on supporting the aspirations of aviation enthusiasts.
In conjunction with these endeavors, Prime Minister Modi also unveiled the Boeing Sukanya Programme, designed to facilitate the inclusion of more girl children from diverse regions of India into the expanding aviation sector. This program signifies a concerted effort to promote gender diversity and inclusivity in the country's aviation industry.
