Surjagarh to Konseri: Greenfield Corridor Opens Doors to Connectivity and Progress

The Maharashtra government has sanctioned the construction of an 84-kilometer greenfield road, linking the Surjagarh iron ore mines to Konseri village in Gadchiroli district.

The approved route, spanning from Navegaon Mor, Surjagargh, to Konseri via Mulchera-Hedri, has been finalized. Lloyds Metals and Energy (LMEL) operates an iron ore mine at Surjagarh and is in the process of establishing an integrated steel plant at Konseri. This dedicated road is anticipated to streamline the transportation of iron ore from the mine to the steel plant, while also facilitating the delivery of healthcare services and other government initiatives.

Over the next one to two years, the Konseri plant is slated for expansion, promising to generate approximately 15,000 employment opportunities.

Additionally, Gadchiroli district will gain connectivity to more developed regions of the state through the Samruddhi Mahamarg and the Durg-Hyderabad Expressway.
